Johnnie Fred Zapalac, 63, of Angleton, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2010 in Angleton.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 28, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2010 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father David Zapalac officiating. Burial will follow in the Angleton Cemetery.

Johnnie Fred Zapalac was born January 21, 1947 to Lewis and Leona Zapalac. He was a member of the carpenter’s union and worked as a carpenter. Johnnie enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

His father, Lewis Zapalac, preceded him in death. Survivors include his mother, Leona Zapalac; brothers, Jimmy Zapalac and Lewis Zapalac; sister, Lillie Hamilton; nephew, Michael Zapalac; nieces, Jessica Hamilton, Lisa Todd and husband George; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Leon Horky, Greg Zapalac, Albert John Zapalac, Gene Uherek, Andrew Ondreas and Rudolph Prihoda, Jr.
