Obituary

Lacricia “Cricia” Marie Prescott-White, of League City, passed away on May 14, 2026, at the age of 55. Born on December 16, 1970, Cricia lived a life centered around love, family, service to others, and the joy she brought to everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Cricia was a woman whose heart belonged completely to her family. Her children, grandson, and nephews were the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Known lovingly as “Kiddie” by her nephews and grandson, Wyatt “Bubba” Derrick, she embraced that special title with pride and affection. Whether she was attending family events, sharing laughter, spoiling her loved ones, or simply being present when someone needed her, Cricia made everyone around her feel deeply loved and cared for.

A creative soul with endless talents, Cricia found joy in crafting, shopping, garage sales, photography, videography, baking, and cooking. She was especially known for her beautiful mums and her ability to make any gathering feel warm and welcoming with her delicious meals and baked treats. She loved outings with her work friends and treasured the memories made during those adventures. Cricia also adored Michael Jackson, whose music brought her happiness throughout her life.

In her younger years, Cricia was actively involved in school activities, participating on the drill team and serving as both yearbook and newspaper editor. Her love for storytelling, creativity, and preserving memories remained with her throughout her life.

Education was important to Cricia, and she proudly achieved a lifelong goal in December of 2025 when she graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from University of Houston–Clear Lake. Her passion for helping children made this accomplishment especially meaningful, as she had a natural gift for nurturing and encouraging young people.

Cricia also devoted her time to serving her community. She volunteered with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and loved being a “Finish Line Angel” for the Houston Marathon, where her kindness and encouraging spirit uplifted countless participants.

Family meant everything to Cricia. She shared a uniquely close bond with her sister, Stephanie, as they were Irish twins and spent their school years side by side, from seventh grade through graduation. She also shared countless TikToks, laughter, and treasured memories with her sister Jennifer, creating a bond that remained strong throughout their lives.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Rachel White, Austin White, and stepson, Jonathan White; her beloved grandson, Wyatt “Bubba” Derrick; her parents, Robert and Janet (Edwards) Prescott; her siblings, Bryan Prescott and wife Renee, Stephanie David, and Jennifer Hoffpauir and husband Eric; her nephews, Jeffrey Prescott, Joshua David, Kyle Hoffpauir, and Hunter Hoffpauir; along with a multitude of other loving family members and dear friends whose lives she touched deeply.

Cricia was preceded in death by her brother, Jeffrey Prescott; her grandparents, Maxine and Riley Edwards and Hazel McDaniel; her stepdaughter, Ashley White; the father of her children, J.D. White; and her cousins, Nick Harbaugh and Autumn Edwards.

Visitation for Cricia will be held Friday, May 22, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., also at the funeral home.

The family kindly requests that all attending wear blue, Cricia’s favorite color, in honor and celebration of her life.

Cricia’s kindness, creativity, devotion to family, and caring spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her. Her legacy lives on through the countless memories she created, the lives she touched, and the unconditional love she gave so freely.
