Obituary

William Ray Pyeatt

August 14, 1952 – May 3, 2026

William “Bill” Ray Pyeatt, 73, of Lake Jackson, passed away on May 3, 2026. Bill was born on August 14, 1952, in Pasadena and lived a life filled with adventure, hard work, and remarkable talent.

From an early age, Bill was known for his love of fast cars and drag racing during his high school years. At just 14 years old, he earned his pilot’s license and completed his first solo flight to Temple — an accomplishment that reflected the fearless spirit he carried throughout his life.

Later, Bill obtained his Captain’s license and worked alongside his father delivering supplies to offshore tankers. Together, they shared many adventures, including taking their boat through the Panama Canal to the northern coast of California.

Bill also owned and operated his own heavy haul trucking company, traveling throughout the United States. He was truly a man of many talents and wore many hats. Those who knew him often said there was nothing Bill could not do.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Pyeatt.

Bill is survived by his mother, Bobbe; his loving wife, Sharon; his two sons, Billy and Jason; and his grandchildren, McKenzie Busby and Taylor Pyeatt.

In accordance with Bill’s wishes, there will be no services. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
