Cynthia Anne Harrell Massingill passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026, in Angleton, Texas. She was born on January 18, 1951, in Houston, Texas, to Alton Wayne Harrell and Peggy Ann Harrell Archer.

Cynthia was raised in Pasadena, Texas, where she graduated from high school before attending San Jacinto College. She began her career working at A.L. Miles Fiberglass and later at Charles P. Young Company in Houston. She met her beloved husband, Lewis Jackson Massingill, at First Methodist Church in Houston, and the two shared 42 wonderful years together.

After the birth of their son, Benjamin, Cynthia devoted herself to both her family and her work, later serving as an assistant librarian at Hunters Creek Elementary in the Spring Branch Independent School District. She found joy in helping others and made lasting connections with students, coworkers, and her community.

Cynthia is survived by her loving husband, Lewis, her son, Ben Massingill, and his wife, Toni, her sister, Susan McDonald, and her stepbrothers, Craig and Byron Archer. She is also remembered fondly by her extended family and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 10:00 a.m. at Palms Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Cynthia’s memory.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the many family members, friends, and neighbors who lovingly supported and cared for Cynthia over the past several years.
