Rachel Ann
Gaona
December 24, 1968 – May 9, 2026
Rachel Becerra Gaona, born on December 24, 1968, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 9, 2026. She was strong‑willed, loyal, and full of life — a woman who loved her family deeply and showed it in her own unmistakable way. Rachel was a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend whose honesty, humor, and big personality made her unforgettable to everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Gonzala Marie Becerra.
She is survived by her husband of 11 years, John Bino Gaona, her partner and best friend for 30 years. She leaves behind her beloved sons, Chris Becerra, and Josh Hernandez (Gabby), who were truly the center of her world. She was tough on them when she needed to be, but she loved them fiercely and without hesitation. Her grandchildren — Juaquin Becerra, Rio Hernandez, Eliana Hernandez, and Mateo Hernandez — brought her a joy that lit her up, especially in recent years as she embraced being “Grandma” with pride and excitement.
She is also survived by her father, Rudy Becerra (Denise); her siblings Rebecca Moran (Sam), Rudy Becerra Jr, and Regan Duhon (Adrian); and her nieces and nephews Sofia Moran, Adrianna Duhon, Mason Becerra, Kassidy Thompson, Bella Becerra, Raelyn Duhon, Kameron Duhon, Dylan Gaona, Candace Lopez and Layla Lopez. She loved each of them deeply and never missed a chance to spoil them — especially on shopping trips that became treasured memories. She is also remembered by countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly.
She was known for her strong opinions, her stubborn streak, and her ability to make everyone laugh. And people loved her for exactly who she was — bold, funny, and never afraid to speak her mind. She enjoyed going out to eat, spending time with her family, and listening to the Tejano music that always made her smile.
Although her passing leaves a space that can never be filled, we celebrate a woman who lived life on her own terms — with heart, humor, and a spirit that filled every room. Her strength, laughter, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
“WHAT WE HAVE ONCE ENJOYED WE CAN NEVER LOSE. ALL THAT WE LOVE DEEPLY BECOMES A PART OF US.”
