Betty June Barcelo

Betty June Barcelo, lovingly known as June, went to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior on May 22, 2026, in Conroe, Texas. She was born on May 12, 1936, in Dallas County, Texas, to Eddie Halteman and Harry Leon Fields.

June was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70 years, Leroy Barcelo, Jr.; and her brothers, Leon Edmond Fields and James Phillip Fields.

She is survived by her brother, Jerry Exline and wife Barbara; daughter, Robin Kay Powell and husband Gene; son, Leroy “Rocky” Barcelo, III and wife Reatha; daughter, Rhonda Horky and husband Bill; grandchildren, Jennifer Felps and husband Robert, Gene Powell, III and wife Renetta, Tera Parker and husband Heath, Stephen Barcelo and wife Amber, LeAnna Carter and husband Jon, Emily Horky and partner Josh, and Wayne Horky; 16 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren.

June lived a life rooted in deep faith, generosity, and love for her family. She was active in her church and found joy in serving others through her volunteer work and ministries. Especially, The Bastrop Birthing Center and the Leona Food Pantry. Throughout her life, she also worked as a florist in the family-owned flower shop, served as a nursing home administrator and dietician, and enjoyed her time traveling the world.

Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her beloved husband and resting peacefully in the arms of the Lord.
