Louise Sykes, 92 of Danbury passed away Sunday, December 13, 2009.
Louise was born March 22, 1917 to Lula & Felix Lewis in Eloise, TX and later moved to Highbank, TX to the family cotton farm. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Danbury where she was a member of the Legion of Mary prayer group. While a member of St. Basil’s Catholic Church she taught Catechism, was a member of the Alter Society and Bible study club.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Frank Sykes and brother, Carlo Lewis.
Louise leaves behind many loved ones including her son, Doug Sykes and wife Patricia of Angleton; daughters, Ginger Williams and husband Joe of Angleton, and Frances Ryan of New Orleans, LA; brother, Joseph Lewis; grandchildren,Ralph Williams, Mary & Patrick Browning, Elizabeth Williams, William Watkins and wife Penny, Rachel Trejo and husband Mauricio, Sarah Watkins, Jeremy Sykes and Jennifer Sykes; great grandchildren, Asaleigh Watkins, Donovan Watkins, Alexandra Kelley and Izabella Duncan.
Her family will welcome visitors to Palms Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 17th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with Rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Danbury, TX at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2009. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Browning, Ralph Williams, Ronny LaPaglia, Art Bernhauser, George Ruth and Paul Vrazel. Honorary Pallbearers will be Luke Rao, Manuel Vetrano, Carlos LaPaglia and Charles Herbst.
