Willie James Donald, Jr.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Willie James Donald Jr., who left this world on July 30, 2025, at the age of 87. He was born on December 18, 1937, and raised in Prestwick, Alabama, before making his way to Texas, where he spent the last four years of his life.

Willie was passionate about serving his community and devoted his time to activities like fishing, playing card games, and enjoying a good round of dominos. He had a special love for Bible study and was an active member of the Branch @ Mission Hills Church, where he cherished the friendships he built and the faith he fostered.

Willie was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta L. Donald, and his daughter Donna Regina Donald.

He is survived by his brothers, Willie Sampson Donald & wife Mary, Latham Donald & wife Charlotte, Dennis Donald & wife Deborah, Jerry Donald & wife Barbara, Curtis Donald & wife Carol, David Donald & wife Lisa, Alfred Donald & wife Daisy; sisters, Lila Marie Chapman, Lee Helen Coleman & husband Willie, Laura Ann Pettitt, Betty Jean Washington & husband Valentino, & Mamie Seltzer; his beloved grandchildren, Virginia Donald & husband Michael Bennett & Don Rico Donald; his precious Great grandchildren, Danielle Goodwin & Carson Goodwin, who will carry on his legacy and fond memories.

Services will be held on at Dargin Cemetery in Calera Alabama on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 11:00 am where friends and family will gather to celebrate Willie's life and the impact he had on all who knew him. He will be remembered not only for his kind heart and community spirit but also for the joy he brought to those around him.
