William "Steve" Stephan Robertson

William "Steve" Robertson, a devoted husband, father, grandfather affectionately known as “PaPa,” brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on June 26, 2025, at the age of 78. His departure came just 100 days after the loss of his beloved wife of 58 years, Patty Robertson, with whom he shared a profound and enduring love.

Born on October 21, 1946, in Springfield, MO, Steve was the cherished son of Shirley Wood Robertson, who precedes him in death. He was a steadfast and loving brother to his siblings: David Robertson, Shari Haney, Becky DeWitt, and Matt Hiebert. Their bond was forged in childhood and strengthened through the trials and triumphs of life, remaining close despite the miles that separated them.

Steve's love story began on December 30, 1966, when he married Patty while home on leave from the Army. Their journey together took them to Germany and various states before they settled in Texas, where Steve proudly declared himself “A Texan by Choice, not by Chance.” Their relationship was a testament to the deep love and partnership they cultivated over nearly six decades.

As a father, Steve was a source of unwavering love and support for his daughters, Christy and Tracy. He embraced the role of a fun and adventurous dad, always present in their lives despite the demands of his work. He welcomed Christy’s husband, James Jones, and Tracy’s husband, Jeremy Webb, into the family with open arms, taking pride in the lives they built together with his daughters. His greatest joy came from being a grandfather, and he cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren: Cody Jones and his partner Melanie Jagdeo; Emily Gordon and her husband Hank; Ryan Webb and his wife Monica; Sarah Webb; and Laura Webb and great-grandchildren, Bruce and Calvin Gordon.

Steve's professional journey began in the Army, where he proudly served his country while enlisted and for many years after as his work took him abroad. He excelled in his career in the Marine Industry as a Pipe Fitter, Fleet Mechanic, Port Engineer, and Operations Manager, traveling the world and earning the respect of all who worked alongside him. His dedication to his work was matched only by his commitment to his family, who remained his top priority throughout his career.

A memorial service to honor Steve’s remarkable life will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Palms Funeral Home. Friends, family, and neighbors who knew him are invited to attend and celebrate the life of this unforgettable man.

William “Steve” Robertson will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His legacy of love, strength, and adventure will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
