Wayne Eddins
November 18, 1955 – August 10, 2026
Wayne Eddins passed away on August 10, 2026, following a short but courageous battle with cancer. Until the very end, Wayne remained brave and determined. Even in his hardest days, his concern was never for himself, but for his wife, Terri, his family, his employees, and the many people he loved.
Wayne was a quiet, humble man who never sought recognition or praise. He had a remarkable way of making people feel important simply by taking the time to listen. If someone needed help, advice or just someone to talk to, Wayne was there—without judgement and without hesitation. He believed everyone deserved a second chance and was always willing to give one.
Wayne had a lifelong passion for learning and for his work in geotechnical engineering. After serving eight years in the U.S. Air Force as an air traffic controller in Germany, he found his calling in engineering. In 2005, he started his own company, where his clients became friends and his employees became family. He took great pride in teaching others and sharing the knowledge hehad gained throughout his career. Chris luoma, who worked alongside Wayne for 28 years and became like a son to him, was one of the many people whose life was shaped by Wayne’s guidance and friendship.
Wayne’s life was about more than work. He loved golf, a passion first introduced to him by his mentor and lifelong friend, Earl Klattenhoff. He alos enjoyed scuba diving, skiing, traveling, and especially dancing with Terri. Throughout their 25 years of marriage, they made dancing a regular part of their life together.
Wayne is survived by his beloved wife, Terri; sisters Brenda Schroeder and Melissa Shearman (Howrd); brother Gregg Eddins (Lisa); brother-in-law Ray Hill (Maria); nieces Ashley Shearman-Lingo (Ryan), Whitney Shearman-Damaske (Scott), Kelsey Shearman-Scoggan (Michael), and Kaylee Leach (Austin); nephews Garrett Shearman, Joe Marquez (Kassie), Dalton Hill (Kelcey), and Zane Hill; and eight great-neices and great-nephews.
Wayne never seemed to realize just how he meant to the people around him or how deeply he would be missed. Whenever anyone made too much of him, he would simply say, “I’m just me.”
But to many people, Wayne was so much more.
He was a husband, brother, uncle, mentor, teacher, friend, and someone people could always count on. His kindess, humor, wisdom, and quiet generosity left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Wayne was just Wayne—and that was more than enough. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
