Steve Vasek, 70, out of Freeport, TX, passed away on April 3, 2026. Steve Vasek was born on September 1, 1955 in Wharton, Texas to Steve and Leona Vasek. Steve married the love of his life, Lisa- affectionately known as his “Love Pumpkin, “on June 2, 1979. He is now reunited with her as she preceded him in death in 2021.
Together, they were blessed with two beautiful children; Stephen Vasek and wife, Lindsey and the most amazing daughter, Kristie Vasek; He was a proud Grandfather to Addison and Drake Vasek; and he is also survived by many extended family members and friends. His family was his greatest accomplishment, and his legacy will live on through them.
Steve is survived by his children, grandchildren, and siblings, Christopher Vasek, Lisa Barnett, Suzanne Talasek, and Valerie Hardy along with many nieces and nephews, and his beloved cat, Ginger, who brought him comfort and companionship. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles Vasek.
Steve was well-known in his community for the years He dedicated to his talent of boat restoration. He shared words of wisdom with fellow Captains, deckhands, anglers and others who have crossed his path, but was mostly known for his calmness, steady presence and quiet strengths. The peace and knowledge he brought to others will never be forgotten, and his memory will continue to bring comfort to those who love him.
Visitation starts at 1:00 PM, Sunday, April 12, 2026 at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, TX. Funeral services will begin at 2:00pm. Memorials or Floral Arrangements may be given to Palms Funeral Home, 2300 Mulberry Street, Angleton, TX, 77515.
The family of Steve Vasek is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support, which has brought great comfort during this difficult time.
