Obituary

Sterling “Stu” Lee MacAllister

November 19, 1952 – October 5, 2026

Sterling “Stu” Lee MacAllister, 73, of Brazoria, Texas, passed away on October 5, 2026, in Lake Jackson, Texas.

Stu was born on November 19, 1952, in San Antonio, Texas, to the late Joseph Bradlee and Charlotte Cushman MacAllister. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, a chapter of his life that reflected the independent spirit, loyalty, and strength that would remain with him throughout his years.

In 1973, Stu married the love of his life, Diane Rose Spaulding, on a beautiful Saturday in Hermann Park in Houston, Texas. What began that day became a love that truly lasted a lifetime. Through all the miles, all the years, and all the changes life brought their way, Stu and Diane shared a life built on love, family, memories, and devotion to one another.

Anyone who knew Stu knew there was one thing that was simply part of who he was—he was a Harley-Davidson man through and through. Stu didn't just own a motorcycle; he was a rider. The unmistakable sound of a Harley, the feel of the open road, the wind in his face, and the freedom found somewhere between where he started and wherever the road decided to take him were things he truly loved. Riding wasn't merely a hobby for Stu; it was part of his identity. He was happiest with a Harley beneath him, an open stretch of road ahead, and the freedom to ride.

There was a little bit of a freebird in Stu, and he lived life in his own way. He had a great sense of humor, enjoyed a good cigarette, and was simply an all-around great guy. He knew how to laugh, how to make others laugh, and how to enjoy the simple things in life. He was genuine, independent, hardworking, and the kind of man who left people with stories they would tell long after he had ridden on.

Stu worked as a carpenter and home builder, using his hands, skill, and craftsmanship to build things meant to last. There was pride in a job well done and satisfaction in seeing something take shape from the work of his own hands. Over the years, the homes and projects he helped build became another part of the legacy he leaves behind.

Above everything else, Stu loved his family. He was a Christian, a husband, father, brother, and a cherished Grandpa. His nine grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and the memories they made with him will remain a treasured part of his legacy.

Stu is survived by his beloved wife, Diane; his children, Sean (Lindsey), Shane (Gabby), Dava (Marco), and Michelle (Gerald); his siblings, Jason and Candice; and his nine grandchildren, Tyler, Brooklyn, Jayse, Josh, Emmy, Matthew, Sarah, Ceasar, and Mondo, as well as a multitude of great-grandchilren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Charlotte, and his brother, Loren.

Stu lived with an independent spirit and a love for freedom that could never be contained. He worked hard, loved deeply, laughed often, and rode whenever the road called. While those who loved him will deeply miss his humor, his presence, and the man behind the handlebars, they can take comfort in knowing that the life he lived was unmistakably his own.

For a man who loved the open road, perhaps there is no more fitting way to remember him than this: the ride may have ended here, but the memories, the love, and the sound of his spirit will carry on for miles and miles to come.
