Obituary

Stella G. Bermea

March 16, 1950 ~ February 3, 2026

Stella G. Bermea, a lifelong resident of Angleton, Texas, passed away peacefully in Webster, Texas on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the age of 75.

Born on March 16, 1950, Stella was a true daughter of Brazoria County. She was raised by her parents, Nestor Gonzales and Mary Damian. Stella had a strong sense of family and was a proud member of the ‘barrio’ community. Throughout her life, Stella’s greatest passion was always her work as a beautician. She possessed a natural talent for styling hair, but more importantly, she had a gift for making every person who came across her feel beautiful and valued.

Beyond her professional life, Stella’s heart belonged entirely to her family, whom she loved unconditionally. She was a constant, beaming presence in the lives of her grandchildren, rarely missing a dance performance, attending a school accomplishment or the chance to cheer them on from the sidelines of a sporting event. Whether sharing stories at a large family gathering or offering quiet support, her devotion was irreplaceable. A woman of deep conviction, Stella drew great strength from her Catholic faith; she often prayed the Rosary and leaves behind a lasting legacy of teaching her family to always walk with faith.

Stella was reunited in heaven with her husband, Augustine “Sonny” Bermea; her parents, Nestor and Mary; and her biological mother, Consuelo Garcia.

Her legacy of love lives on through her children: Michelle Bermea-Rodriguez (Manny), Matthew Bermea (Crystal), and Veronica Bermea (Rose). She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Alex, Sophia, and Salma, as well as her sisters and a host of extended family and friends who will miss her vibrant spirit.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 9th, 2026, at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church with Father Victor Perez officiating. The Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am prior to the service. Stella will be laid to rest at Angleton Cemetery.

The staff of Palms Funeral Home extend their deepest condolences to Stella’s friends and family during this difficult time.
