Shirley Jean Mcnew

September 13, 1943 — July 27, 2022

In Loving Memory Of Shirley Jean McNew September 13, 1943 ~ July 27, 2022 We are heartbroken of the passing of our cherished loved one, Shirley Jean McNew, 78 years old from Angleton, who passed away suddenly at UTMB Angleton Danbury Campus on July 27, 2022. Shirley was born in Lilburn, Missouri on September 13, 1943. She was the glue that bound the family together and was never afraid to tell one what she thought about things. She loved us all dearly and those visits from all of us kiddos could make her day and instantaneously put a smile on her face. She was the baker for all the family holidays and took delight in reading. We will certainly miss all the phone calls and visits to mom/grandma's house. She is preceded in death by her husband JC McNew, parents: Leota Canoy and Clyde Canoy, brother Pete Canoy, niece Cindy Verhoff, as well as her grandparents and cousins. She is survived by her children: Rodney McNew and Angela Allen, grandchildren: Ashley Vasut, Jennifer Whittington and her husband David Whittington, great grandchildren: Jayden Vasut, JayLee Jimenez, Teagan Osburn, Corbin Whittington and Connor Whittington, brother Benny Canoy, sister in laws Harriet Canoy, Alice Canoy and their children and grandchildren, as well as cousin Joyce Dardar. A balloon release will be held in her honor at the Angleton Cemetery, at her husband JC McNew's graveside at a later date.
