Pure beauty in a soul is rare, but that was Shirley Ann Harvey LeCompte. Mom loved us all deeply. She was the consummate wife ("Sweet Pea"), mom and "MeeMaw"; mom lived for her family. Shirley Ann was a fastidious dresser, but was not "dressed" unless her lipstick was perfect. She was also comfortable in rubber boots and a Sombrero while mowing the yard, driving the combine cutting rice or tending to her cows. Mom insisted her children have an education. She loved her Texas Aggies. She told us we could go to college anywhere, but she and dad would only pay tuition to Texas A & M. While the Aggies may not have won the football game, Mom said the Fightin' Texas Aggie band always won halftime. MeeMaw's grandchildren were the light of her life after we all went away. The kitchen sink was a face-hand-feet-washing station for them all. She was their taxi driver to/from school as well as their surrogate parent should a discipline issue come up. Mom had just celebrated her 86th birthday, 68th wedding anniversary and the love of her life's 91st birthday in January. She was born in Citrus Grove, Matagorda County, Texas on January 14th, 1936 and passed away February 11th, 2022. Mom married the love of her life, Raymond LeCompte, on January 16th, 1954. Together mom and dad wrangled six children: Randy (deceased), Leah, Anthony, Allison, Jeff (deceased) and Chris (Delynda). Mom is survived by eleven grandchildren: Linc and Taylor LeCompte (Randy), Madeleine LeCompte (Leah), Jeff II and Katelyn LeCompte (Anthony), Arienne, Austin and Christian Willbern (Allison), Jackson (Kari), Morgan (Justin) and Jordan LeCompte (Chris). Mom is also survived by six great-grandchildren: Zoe and Joe LeCompte (Linc), Brody, Hayden and Baylor LeCompte (Jackson), and Logan Crumrine (Morgan).
