Sharon Donnette Miller Eckert, 78, of Alvin passed away on October 11, 2026 peacefully in her sleep. Sharon was born on November 17, 1947, in Alice, Texas to Clifton and Betty (McWhirter) Miller. She grew up in Victoria and later moved to Webster, then moved to Alvin to be near family.
In High School she was a part of the Victoria Doors dance group, she had attended cotillion as a child and was also in choir and received UIL recognition. She aspired to become an Air Stewardess, but her life path took her in other directions. At one time she worked for United Way and Tree’s Inc. in their accounting department and later she worked for Fagan’s Answering Service for twelve years, taking emergency calls.
She dearly loved her family (they meant the world to her) and enjoyed reading as much as possible, traveling when she could and some of her favorite movies included McClintock, Fried Green Tomatoes the Harry Potter films and Lord of the Rings. She had a huge imagination and even bigger dreams. Even up to her passing she talked about going to Italy and wanting a little cottage with land so she could putter in her garden.
Those that preceded her in death include her mother and father, her dear brothers: Daryl and Bobby Miller, and sisters: Dottie Cardy and Terri Miller and her best friend since childhood Brenda Smith.
Left to remember her are her children: Susan Comstock Glasscock and her husband Rob of Visalia, California; Eugene Claire Eckert and his wife Devon of Sealy, Texas; and Amber Suann Jordan and her husband David of Alvin, Texas; her sisters: Kristy Miller, Dawn Fullbright, and Suann Evard; grandchildren: Alan Pujol, Kevin, Pujol, Kristen Pujol, Alex Pujol, Ian Pujol, Isabella Pujol, Aidan Jordan, Genevieve Jordan, and Willow Eckert; great grandchildren: Aiden Pujol, Kaitlynn Pujol, Emma Aberson, Nova Aberson and River Aberson and Forrest Pujol; and numerous other family members and friends.
A Time of Visitation will be held at Palms Funeral in Angleton TX on 10/19/2026 from 10:00am-12:00pm. A Graveside Service will be held at 12:30pm on 10/19/26 at Oak Park Cemetery in Alvin reception to follow at Heights Baptist Church Alvin TX.
