Sgt. Jonathan David “J.D.” White, Jr.
November 21, 1973 - June 1, 2025
It is with both heavy hearts and joyful memories that we announce the passing of Sgt. Jonathan David “J.D.” White, Jr., who was killed in the line of duty on June 1, 2025, at the age of 51. A dedicated law enforcement officer for the Angleton Police Department for 19 years, he was known for his unwavering commitment to his community and his fellow officers.
J.D. was a man of many passions. He cherished his time spent hunting and fishing, often sharing these joyful activities with his beloved father, David White. J.D. had a passion for flying, classic country and the United States Military. He also had a talent for golfing, and many of his most treasured memories were made on the green. A true Casanova at heart, he had a magnetic charm that endeared him to many, but his most cherished role was that of “Pa Pa” to his grandkids. He was excitedly awaiting the arrival of his newest grandchild, Adeline Kristin White, and his legacy will continue through them. They will forever live their lives in the way he taught them…” You have to be smarter than the thing you’re working with.”
J.D. will be celebrated by his surviving family members, including his children: Jonathan David White, III. (Reiney), Austin James White, and Rachel Kayla White (Jeffrey Wadkins). He leaves behind his precious grandchildren: Lincoln Abbott White, Sawyer Everett Eugene White, Adeline Kristin White and Wyatt (Bubba) Lawrence Derrick, Jr. Also mourning his loss are his father, David White; his sister, Brandy Pena (J.T.); and his cherished nieces and nephews: Brittany Gutierrez (Isa), Nathaniel Pena (Juel), Evie Mae Pena, Layne Everett Gutierrez, Rowan Allen, and Jeziah Allen. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Amy White, and her children, Ciara Allen and Garrett French. Along with his family J.D. leaves behind his many special friends.
A visitation for J.D. will take place on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Palms Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to come and share stories, laughter, and love as they remember a remarkable man.
Funeral services will subsequently be held at the Brazoria County Fairground Auditorium at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. We invite everyone whose lives J.D. touched to join in this celebration of his life, to honor the memories made, and to share the love he radiated. At the family’s request, everyone is invited to wear J.D.’s favorite color to the service. He would be honored if everyone would wear red western shirts with pearl snaps.
J.D. was welcomed into Heaven by his mother, Rebecca Renee White; his daughter, Kristin Ashley White; and his grandparents: James and Nona White, Oleta and Buddy Goderich, and Andy and Connie Inglehart. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Serving as Pallbearers will be: Jonathan White, Austin White, E.J. King, Michael “Zap” Zapalac, Bubba McHam, John Rall and Michael Chaloupka. They will be escorted along by the combined Law Enforcement honor guard who will render full Police Honors for Sgt. White.
In lieu of flowers, the best way you can honor J.D. is by donating to the following charities that meant the most to him. Please consider making donations to The Angleton Police Department Shop With A Cop Program, Actions, or The 100 Club.
