Richard Allen Dix, aged 88, passed away on May 15, 2025, in Pearland, TX. Born on August 10, 1936, in Cando, ND. Richard served his nation with dedication, enlisting in the U.S. Army from March 1968 to December 1976. Following his military service, he pursued a law enforcement degree from Brazosport College and while working for the Brazoria County Sheriff's Department. Over 27 years, Richard ascended from patrolman to Captain of the Jail, forming many lifelong friendships along the way, particularly under Sheriffs Robert Gladney and Joe King. Hall, Jr. and his wife Crystal Hall, Travis Heath Hall, and Ethan Adam Hall; "Grandpa Wiskers" to great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Brooklyn, Gracie, and Caleb; and numerous nieces and nephews.
