Randy M. Jackson was born on September 8, 1956 in Freeport, Tx to Belvin Lee and Mary Alice Jackson. Randy entered Heaven on April 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and family. Although he did not want to leave us, he was looking forward to meeting our Lord Jesus Christ and his loved ones he dearly missed.
Randy’s life was defined by his deep roots and his enduring devotion to those he held dear. He shared an incredible 50 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Jan Spencer Jackson, building a life centered on faith, love, and family. He and Jan built a lifelong legacy of love and commitment and shared this with their three beautiful children.
There’s no question that Randy had a servant’s heart. For many years Randy preached the Gospel sharing God’s love to everyone he knew and met. He spent most of his adult life serving God within the Assembly of God churches. Randy served as a pastor, an associate pastor, praise and worship leader and served on many deacon boards. One of the many things he did was helping Tom Jamison create Outpost 70 in the Royal Rangers at First Assembly of God in Angleton, Tx Randy also served many years as a police officer in Danbury, Tx, Wharton, Tx, Shiner, Tx, and Angleton, Tx as well as a volunteer fireman for Angleton, Tx. Randy was devoted to serving and protecting his community at all costs.
Randy was a man of many hats. In his younger days he worked off and on as a cowboy with his brother David Jackson, he worked at Ace Hardware in Angleton, Tx, he owned a gas station (J & W Exxon) and he worked in sales for many years. He also coached baseball for Angleton Little League for 20 years, a past time shared by the whole family even after Randy stopped coaching.
Many cherished memories of family and friends will be of Randy singing and playing his guitar. However Randy was very musically inclined and could pick up just about any instrument and play it. His beloved father gave him his first guitar and from there Randy became an expert. He played in a band in high school and later he and Randy Hargrove became guitar picking buddies, creating some of the fondest memories for both families.
Growing up the kids were always told that "Dad knows everything". For the most part that was always true and if he didn't know something he made sure he found out quickly. Randy was a true patriarch. Caring for each and every one of his family members and instilling his love, knowledge and goodness within them.
Randy was preceded in death by his son, Randy Mac Jackson, Jr. What a joyous reunion they will have! Also, preceded in death are his beloved parents, Belvin Lee and Mary Alice Jackson, sister Carolyn M. Thomas, brother David L. Jackson, grandparents Clyde C. and Lurline Wilson, and E.G. and Mamie Jackson.
Celebrating Randy’s life and love are his wife Jan, daughters Amie Jackson Wainwright and husband Paul, Kristi Jackson Fregia and husband Cory, daughter in law Shannon Jackson and husband Mac Jackson (deceased). Randy has one surviving sister, Barbara Lorraine and husband Paul Wayne, sister in law Carol Jackson and David Jackson (deceased), brother in law Gene Spencer and wife Jana. Randy’s greatest joy was found in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He watched his family tree grow with immense pride, leaving his legacy in the hearts of Baylee McEntire(Devin), Paul Michael Wainwright, Caleb Jackson(Katie), Garett Wainwright(Elizabeth), Cole Jackson(Liberty), Jaxon Wainwright, Randi Fregia, Christian Wainwright, Sawyer Jackson, and Emry Jackson. He was also the proud great-grandfather of Lillian Jackson and Lucas McEntire. He leaves behind many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins who will remember him fondly as a steady presence in their lives.
We miss you, Randy
Special thanks to the Angleton Police Department along with Cory Fregia and Jr Munoz.
