Minnie Ann (Mullins) Newman, 93, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025. Ann was born on December 14, 1931, in Dawson County, Texas, to Charles and Allie (Key) Mullins.

Ann was one of four sisters and two brothers, raised on a cotton and cattle farm outside Lamesa, Texas. She attended school in Lamesa and later attended Texas Tech University. In 1950, she married John Cyril Newman, Jr, a member of the US Armed Services, and they spent much of their very happy married life living far from Dawson County.

Ann will be laid to rest on Monday, November 10, at 2:00 p.m. alongside her husband Johnny, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, locate at 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.

Survivors include daughters Gayle Shackelford and Vickie Newman, and son-in-law Michael Gordy; grandchildren Honor Moorman, John Noah Newman, David Shackelford, Nancy Shackelford, and Thomas Rainwater, and their spouses. Ann also leaves behind great-grandchildren Grayson and Annika Shackelford and Jack and Grace Roberts.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings, her husband, and her son, John Cyril Newman, III.
