Mauro J. Almendarez

Mauro J. Almendarez, 71, of Angleton, Tx. passed away surrounded by his family on September 3, 2026.

Born on October 2, 1954, in Laguna San Rita, San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

He is the beloved son of the late Perfecto and Maria de los Angeles Armendariz and is predeceased by his siblings Carmen, Pedro, Julio, and Juan.

Mauro's legacy is carried forward by his loving wife of 48 years, Rhode, who stood by his side with unwavering devotion and prayer over his life.

Mauro's life was enriched by his three children, Iris, Daniel(Tracey) and Marilyn (Roy) who each carry forward his spirit of warmth and generosity. His heart was forever full with the joy of his grandchildren—Cassidy, Rome, Danielle, Gabriella, Austin, and Nathaniel—whom he adored and with whom he shared countless adventures. His surviving siblings, Guadalupe, Petra, Alicia, Rosario, Juana, and Antonio, also hold dear the memories of a brother who filled their lives with joy and laughter. And a lot of nieces & nephews.

Professionally, Mauro spent many years as a skilled sandblaster & painter in the Houston & Galveston ports and in the oil platforms in the Gulf., In his latter years he worked in maintenance where he got to befriended a lot of people and little ones that called him granpa.

He liked fishing & tending lovingly to his plants while listening to rock & roll.

Above all, his greatest joy came from spending precious moments with his grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

Mauro's laughter was infectious, resonating with warmth and sincerity. He had a unique way of making birthdays special, often calling to sing happy birthday with heartfelt enthusiasm. Known for his playful spirit, he delighted in sneaking a bite from everyone's plate, a gesture that was endearingly Mauro.

His family fondly remembers Mauro's signature phrases, "love you too much" and "see you tomorrow," words that encapsulate his enduring love and optimism. His presence in their lives is a gift that will be treasured always.

His family finds comfort I knowing he accepted Christ & was baptized in 1996.

Mauro's journey through life is a testament to the profound impact of God’s love, grace, protection, and mercy. His memory will forever be a beacon of warmth and hope to all who knew him.

A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 9th at 6 pm at Templo La Hermosa located at 1950 Brazosport Blvd. N, Richwood TX 77531.
