Mary Ann Reynolds, affectionately known as “Mern” by those closest to her, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025, in Galveston, Texas. A longtime resident of Angleton and a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Mary will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Born on December 4, 1937, in Conroe, Texas, Mary graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown before earning her nursing degree from the Lillie Jolly School of Nursing. She went on to become a Registered Nurse and dedicated many years to serving her community through her work with Brazoria County. Her kind heart, steady hands, and compassionate spirit left a lasting impact on countless individuals and families.
In 1962, Mary married the love of her life, Clarence Emory “C.E.” Reynolds. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, family, and service. For 32 years, she faithfully taught Sunday school at Sandy Point Bible Church, sharing her love for scripture and shaping the lives of generations of children. Outside of her work and ministry, Mary found joy in fishing and handwork, hobbies that brought her peace and fulfillment.
She is survived by her devoted sons, Kyle Reynolds (Frances) and Michael Reynolds (Patricia); her brother, Glen Troha (Deborah); her grandchildren, Michaela Reynolds, Cory Reynolds, Kristina Reynolds, and Ashley Reynolds; and her great-grandchildren, Westlyn O'Neal, Kara Alvarado, James Reynolds, Rowen Whitt, Ryder Tyner, Jax Jewell, and Olivia Harper.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C.E. Reynolds, and her parents, Frank and Marcel (Sumrall) Troha.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mary’s life at a visitation on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton. Funeral services will be held at the same location on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 10:00 AM, followed by a graveside service at Angleton Cemetery at 11:00 AM.
Mary’s legacy of love, faith, and service will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
