Mark Russel Greaves, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2026. A man of quiet strength and steadfast character, Mark leaves behind a legacy defined by hard work, athletic prowess, and an unwavering devotion to his family.
Born on April 27, 1955, in Crosby, North Dakota, to Clayton and Rose Greaves, Mark was raised in a large, vibrant household. During his years at Noonan High School, he was a standout athlete; his speed on the track was legendary, and he held a school record for six years—a testament to his determination and drive. He then attended Whapton College in North Dakota.
Mark carried that same dedication into his professional life, giving 30 years of service to Phillips 66. Known for his exceptional work ethic, he took immense pride in his career, viewing it as the means to provide a beautiful life for those he held dear.
On September 11, 1987, Mark married the love of his life, Marilyn. Together, they built a home and a life centered on love, sharing 38 years of cherished memories and milestones.
While Mark was a provider by trade, his true calling was his family. He was a proud and supportive father to his three sons, but his most treasured title was “Pops.” His seven grandchildren were his greatest joy, and he took every opportunity to celebrate their lives and witness their growth.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Greaves; his sons, Dustin Greaves, Darrin (Morgan) Greaves, and Daniel (Krystal) Greaves; and his seven grandchildren, Brantley, Teagan, Khloe, Koraline, Kwynn, Joey, and Devon.
He also leaves behind his siblings: Tom Greaves, Ted Greaves, Jeff (Heidi) Greaves, Karen Ide, Sue (Duane) Evenson, Lee Greaves, Joey Greaves, Donna (Sam) Mullins, and Roxanne (David) Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Rose Greaves.
Pallbearerers: Jared Penney, Brantley Greaves, Travis(Hank) Armstrong, Clayton Peterson, Wes Christopher, Cameron Hawk
