Marcela (Leal) Carrales, a beloved wife, mother and daughter, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025 in Pearland, Texas. A longtime resident of Angleton, Marcela was born in San Juan, Texas to Jose Luz Leal and Maria Ynes (Saldaña) on September 20, 1942. She was the fourth of fifteen children, five from her father's 1st marriage and nine more from his 2nd. Her formal education ended in the 8th grade and she was called on to help care for her younger siblings. Her regard to care and watch for others began there and then into a professional career, first at a nursing home and then in her home as she cared for children in her home.

She married her husband, Jose Eliúd, on September 15, 1968 in her hometown. They were together for 48 years before his passing in 2016.

In her free time, she enjoyed collecting angel paraphernalia, reading biographies, and doing crosswords and word searches.

She is survived by her children, Jose Eliúd II and Genieve, as well as her siblings, Angelica, Juanita, Maria de Jesus, Domingo, Maria del Carmen, Susana, Antonio, Maria Dolores, Francisco Javier, Miguel Angel, Marta Adriana and Juan Ramón, and seven grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Yvonne, sisters Maria Ynes and Maria Ana, brother Jose Angel, and stepmother Francisca.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 28 at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton. Family are invited to join from 2:00pm to 3:00pm and friends are welcome from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.

A special mass will be held at 10:00am on Monday, December 29 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Angleton.
