Loretta Alma Norris, 90, of Angleton, Texas, died peacefully with her family by her bedside on June 28, 2023. Born on October 23, 1932, in Warren, Arkansas, Loretta was the daughter of Willie Mae and Bill Belin. During her youth, she captured attention as an athletic young lady and caught the eye of her beloved husband, "TJ" Norris. They wed on July 15, 1950, and settled in Angleton, Texas, where they started a family and became lifelong members of the First Baptist Church Family of Angleton. Loretta was known for her warm smile and helpful assistance at Mina's Dress Shop, where countless visitors sought guidance in selecting the perfect outfit. For 28 years, she dedicated her time to the Angleton Danbury Hospital (UTMB) Ladies Auxiliary, welcoming all with her infectious smile and offering helpful recommendations for finding that ideal gift. In her free time, Loretta enjoyed fishing, bowling, cheering for Angleton football and the Astros baseball team, and witnessing the remarkable growth of her three children. She never met a stranger and made many lifelong friends throughout Brazoria County. Anyone who met Loretta felt her charm and warmth and would love to sit and talk for a spell. Until the end of her life, Loretta remained a resilient and independent woman, determined to depart this world on her terms and in the Lord's timing. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband of 66 years, "TJ." Left to cherish her memory are her three children: Tira Norris, Thomas Norris (Dianna), Johnny Ray Norris (Bridgett), her brother Lamar Belin (Yvonne), and her sister Louvenia Adams (Junior). Additionally, she is survived by her grandchildren: Trini Villanueva (Jessica), Nick Norris, Chris Norris (Cassie), Truett Whitt, JRay Norris (Stephanie), Sydney Markle (Chris), and Jimbo Powell (Lacey). She also leaves behind twelve great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A visitation and viewing will be held at Angleton's First Baptist Church on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 10:00 am, followed by a service at 11:00 am, and a graveside burial at Angleton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends and family choose to make a donation to The First Baptist Church of Angleton or the UTMB Woman's Auxiliary. Service Details.
