Linda (Howell) Gonzales, born October 8, 1959, in Freeport, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Raised in Angleton, Texas, Linda remained a proud and devoted member of the community she called home throughout her life.
Linda was a strong, selfless woman whose heart was anchored in her family. She married her high school sweetheart, Gary Gonzales, and together they built 46 years of love, partnership, and commitment. They raised two daughters, Gyna and Geri, who were the pride of Linda’s life. She never missed a chance to celebrate their accomplishments, and she carried their successes with her everywhere she went.
Linda dedicated more than 20 years to the City of Angleton’s Human Resources Department, where she became known for her compassion, professionalism, and ability to make everyone feel valued. Her work touched countless lives, and her legacy within the city will be remembered for years to come.
She grew up in a lively household with her four sisters (Hilda, Carol, Lupe, and Mary) and her five brothers (Joe, Willie, Jim, Max, and Richard) who kept her laughing, supported her, and ensured life was never dull.
Linda was also a proud grandmother to her two grandsons, Alejandro Juarez and Everett Phillips, whom she adored deeply. Her joy in being their “Gamma” was evident in every smile, every story, and every moment she spent with them. She also had a love for cats, including her big orange cat Canelo aka Neller B.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Francis Howell, and her beloved husband, Gary Gonzales. Though her absence leaves a profound ache, her family finds comfort knowing she is reunited with those she loved so dearly.
Linda will be remembered for her strength, her generosity, her laughter, and the way she poured her heart into everyone she loved. Her legacy lives on in her daughters, her grandsons, her siblings, and the countless people whose lives she touched.
