Leila Villa, 61, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on April 4, 1965, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Leila spent her childhood in Massachusetts. Leila moved about the country before she eventually made her home in Texas.

Leila’s greatest joy was found in the simple, meaningful moments of life. She appreciated many types of cuisine and enjoyed creating meals for her family. Above all, her true calling and deepest pride was her family. She devoted her life to spending time with her family. In times of distress, she was the rock that anchored them.

She is survived by her loving parents, Sergio and Doris "Cookie" Rodriguez; her beloved daughter, Margarita "Tita" Barkley; and her cherished granddaughters who brought endless light to her later years. Her family reached far beyond traditional definitions and embraced Lily Velazquez and her children.

Leila’s warmth, unwavering presence, and unconditional love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
