Laverne Avery Johnson, 83, of Angleton passed away on July 4, 2026, in League City. Laverne was born on July 23, 1942, in Houston to R.O. and Gladys (Fechner) Avery.
Laverne worked for AISD & BISD driving a school bus for 40 years. Her passion was sewing & quilting.
Those that preceded her in death include her parents R.O. and Gladys Avery, and son James Roland Johnson.
Left to treasure her memory is her son Stephen Johnson and wife Shawna, grandchildren: Justin Johnson and Kayla Johnson and other family members and friends.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Angleton Cemetery.
