Karen Dianne Foreman Southerland was born August 10, 1954to Lloyd Allen Foreman Jr. and Jonnie Lou Dial Foreman of Angleton Texas. She passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025 at a Houston hospice.

Dianne attended school in Angleton and graduated from Angleton High School in 1972. Dianne attended East Texas Baptist University prior to enlisting in the United State Air Force. Dianne served her country from 1973 through 1989. Dianne was very proud of her service and enjoyed relatingstories of her travels in the US and in Europe.

After leaving the Air Force, Dianne held several positions within the Veterans Administration and with the State of Texas. She retired from the State of Texas in 2015.

Dianne was known for her gift of laughter and always enjoyed family gatherings. She was well known for one particular habit. On any automobile trip, she dutifully identified any sighting of cows. This became her signature statement. Her family will miss these announcements, as they always incited laughter. Dianne also had a warm and kind spirit and loved animals. She was always willing to help anyone who needed help.

Karen Dianne Foreman Southerland is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Allen Foreman Jr. and Jonnie Lou Dial Foreman. Also preceding her in death were her brother, Lloyd Allen Foreman III and her sister Julliette Elaine Foreman Yingling.

She is survived by her spouse James Southerland and her sons Timothy Montgomery, Jeremy Montgomery, and Scott Southerland. She is survived by her sister Martha Foreman Williams, and her grandchildren Jacob, Tiffani, and Jeremiah Montgomery. Also surviving is one great-granddaughter, Skylar Montgomery. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family welcomes friends for a time of visitation on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home located at 2300 E. Mulberry Angleton, Texas 77515. She will be laid to rest at Houston National Cemetery on Friday, October 24, 2025.
