He was a hard-working man with integrity, he worked as a laborer for many years in California, Washington and other states eventually moving his family to Freeport, Texas where he worked in various fields including pipefitter, welder and finally found his passion as the owner of Tijerina Trucking and several dump trucks that worked with Vernor Material for many years. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and camping out at the jetties with his girls and loved dancing with his beautiful bride. He never missed a chance to watch The Price Is Right and loved to watch old movies especially Westerns with John Wayne. He later moved to Angleton where he continued to enjoy fishing, raising his chickens, and driving his big tractor. He loved celebrating birthdays and always loved when his brothers, sisters and their families came to celebrate with him; it brought him great joy. He loved to talk trash yet never met a stranger, his big voice made him someone to remember, and many loved his bold personality. He made longtime friends, many of which stopped by to visit with him during his last months and we are forever thankful. The family would like to thank everyone that prayed for him and stopped by to visit or bring food during this time. He was a fighter and fought to the end, never losing his ability to communicate, walk or do things on his own and was aware of everyone that visited until his last breath where he was surrounded with love and peace only Jesus can offer. Cancer did not win, Jesus did, He gained an Angel, and we are grateful to have had him in our lives.
