Joyce Peltier Hale Dixon, 84, of Danbury, went to her eternal life with Jesus on Thursday, February 10, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Leon (Bill) Peltier Sr & Mary Novotny Peltier, sister Dianne & brother-in-law Ken Oswald, brother Ralph & sister-in-law Audrey, nephews Phillip & Ralph Peltier Jr, husband Ray Hale Sr and husband Charles Dixon. Left to cherish her memory are her children Panda Johnson, Marla (Dale) Hickman, Terri Hale, Ray (Sandra) Hale Jr, William (Bo) (Gloria) Hale, James Hale & stepson Mike Dixon; grandchildren Ashley (Pat) Zaragoza, Matthew (Malarie) Bass, Morgan Bass, Chad (Tamara) Dixon and Justin (Alaina) Dixon; great-grandchildren Brent Zaragoza, Rita Jean Bass, Noah Dixon, Tate Dixon & Jett Dixon; siblings Alton (Dora) Peltier Sr, William (Bill) (Mary Ann) Peltier Jr, Kathy Manuel, Mike (Maggie) Peltier, David (Pam) Peltier and Denise (Bruce) Gotcher; her dear friend Barbara Mager and many nieces and nephews. Joyce was known for her friendly smile and her amazing baking and cooking skills! For many years the auction of her baked goods at the church bazaar was an anticipated event. In her younger years she liked to hunt - many times the kids came home from school to find the house empty and upon hearing gun shots from the woods behind their house would know that she was out hunting! She worked at Leo's Grocery in Danbury for many years before becoming an Operations Technician at Monsanto Chocolate Bayou, from which she eventually retired. She also enjoyed going to the casinos with friends and co-workers from the plant. A rosary will be said at 9:30 am on Friday, February 18, 2022, with visitation at 10 am and the funeral mass at 11 am at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Danbury. Service Details.
