With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph D. Williams on Monday, July 8, 2024, at the age of 89.
The eighth child of John Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Williams, Joseph was born on March 11, 1935, in Blessing, Texas. Known to family and friends as Joe D., he lived a life full of love, laughter, and accomplishments, guided by his unwavering faith in the Holy Spirit.
Joe attended Texas A&M and went on to pursue a career as a Civil Engineer. Ever true to his mantra of ‘leave things better than you found them,’ he made significant contributions to America’s natural gas infrastructure by creating environmentally sustainable gas pipeline routes, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike.
He was known for his big heart, calm demeanor, and sense of service, all rooted in his deep faith. Joe's dedication was to God, family, and country. He embodied the teachings of the Bible, always willing to lend a hand and give generously to those in need. His charitable nature touched many lives, and his presence brought joy and comfort to all who knew him. His life was a testament to his faith, often sharing the guidance and strength he received from the teachings of the Church.
Joe was married to the love of his life, Ginger Lee Hodges, for almost 60 years before she passed away in 2020. Their marriage was a beautiful example of love and devotion, blessed by God's grace.
He is survived by his loving children, Ralph T. Williams, Mary L. Browning and Donald French, Elizabeth F. and Larry Kellogg, his granddaughter, Alexandra K. Kelley, and a large extended family. Joe's faith, love, and dedication to his family and community will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Joe's memory will be cherished forever, and his legacy of faith and love will continue to inspire those who knew him. May he rest in peace in the embrace of the Holy Spirit.
Joe will be remembered at a viewing on Tuesday, July 16th from 5:00-7:00 pm, followed by a Rosary at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, Texas. The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, July 17th, at 10:00 am at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, with burial at the family cemetery in Ashby immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1713 N Tinsley St, Angleton, TX 77515.
