Jose Alfredo "Joe" Salinas

Jose Alfredo “Joe” Salinas, born September 16, 1954, in McKinney, Texas, to Genaro Salinasand Maria Salinas, lost his courageous battle with cancer on Monday, July 20, 2026.

Known lovingly as Joe, he was also called Dad, Pops, and even “Gravy Man” by the many people whose lives he touched. Though he had three biological children, Joe’s kindness,generosity, and steady presence made him a father figure to many. Joe honorably served his country as a veteran of the United States Army and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose influence reached far beyond his immediate family.

Joe had a passion for working with his hands and fixing things. If someone needed help, they knew they could count on him. No matter the circumstances, he made himself available, offering his time, skill, and heart without hesitation. His life was marked by compassion, humility, hard work, and a deep love for the people around him.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Genaro and Maria Salinas; his sisters, Hilda Salinas and Dolores Salinas; and his brother, Rolando Salinas.

He is survived by his beloved wife, San Juanita “Janie” Salinas; his oldest son, Filiberto Fernando Salinas; his middle son, Luis Alberto Salinas and wife Nikki Valdez; his daughter, Christina Marie Salinas; and his adopted daughter, Dominique Nicole Miller and husband Greg Miller. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Robert Luis Salinas, Damian Michael Robinson, Joshua Rene Salinas, Christian Xavier Robinson, Ca’Siah Ford, Cattaleya Silva, Rafael Peace Salinas and Cah’Lani Miller; and his great-grandchildren, Isla Jasmine Salinas and Robert Jose Salinas. Joe is further survived by his sisters, Teresa Salinas and Hermila Obregon and her husband, Victor Obregon; his brother, Rene Salinas and his wife, Yolanda Salinas; and his brother, Genaro Salinas. He also leaves behind many loving cousins, in-laws, extended familymembers, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at Palms Funeral Home from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm with Rosary beginning at 4:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church beginning at 10:00 am with burial to follow at Angleton Cemetery.

Joe’s legacy lives on in every life he helped repair, every person he encouraged, and every family member and friend who was blessed to know him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
