It is with a broken heart that we announce the passing of my loving husband and amazing father, James Allen Schultz, 79, ending his three-year battle with dementia. He was born on December 28, 1946 in Belville, Texas to Monroe and Agnes Schultz.
He graduated from Jeff Davis High School in 1965 and was drafted into the Army where he served in the Viet Nam conflict, 1966 – 1967. He came home to meet and marry his sweetheart, Katherine Clark. James was a highly skilled mechanic for Joe Myers Ford for 36 years. He was blessed with three children.
James had a deep love for Jesus, his family, his country and his church, First Baptist Angleton, where he served after moving to Danbury. He gave all he had to serve the Lord with Volunteer Christian Builders and Texas Port Ministry. James enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting and raising rabbits with his children to show in 4H.
He was always smiling and joking and took such good care of Katherine and his children with a deep abiding love. James will be greatly missed by his family and friends. When he took his last breath here he took his first step into heaven. It was a blessing for him to be made whole again. We look forward to seeing him again!
James is survived by his beautiful wife (his words), Katherine; his sons, James Allen, Jr. and Larry Wayne; and his daughter, Crystal Louise (Campbell) and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers: Monroe, Jr., Harvey Gene and Roy Olan and his parents, Monroe and Agnes Schultz.
James loved reading God’s Word and sharing his love of God with his children and church family. He was always reading the book of James near the end of his life. “Blessed is the man that endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to them that love him.” (James 1:12) Loved ones will forever cherish their memory of James.
A celebration of life service will be held on May 16th at 10:00 am at First Baptist Angleton, 972 Anchor Road, Angleton, Texas.
Memorial donations may be made to Texas Port Ministry, 1103 Cherry St., Freeport, Texas 77541; flowers are appreciated.
