James Walker Evans, 76, of Danbury passed away on August 26, 2025 in Houston. James was born on September 29, 1948, in Texas City to Walker Raywood and Betty Jean (Stahl) Evans.
He married Linda Kay Collins on June 5th in 1970. Sharing 55 years together, they did it all. Their devotion to each other was one to be truly admired. He dedicated his life to faith, family and hard work.
He honorably served his country in the United States Navy as a Vietnam veteran before beginning a long and dedicated career at Dow Pipeline where he devoted over 40 years of hard work and dedication.
He loved spending time with his family. His family and friends will forever cherish the memories they shared with him and the examples he set. He will be fondly remembered for his patriotism, generosity, and his love for his family.
Those that preceded him in death include his parents, Walker and Betty Evans; son, Trampas Evans; brother, Mike Evans and sister, Barbara (Evans) Erickson.
Left to treasure his memory is his wife, Linda Evans; son, Scott Evans and wife Cindy of Santa Fe. Grandchildren, Brant Evans and wife Macy of Santa Fe; Colton Evans of Santa Fe; Shelby (Scott) Bernshausen and husband Melvin of Danbury; brother in law, Hubert Collins of Danbury. Great grandchildren, Piper and Easton.
Best friends Larry and Goldie Strebeck, his partner in crime, Rick (Pie Guy) Taylor and numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the Funeral Service following at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Palms Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Danbury Cemetery.
