James Earl Ausmus, 84, of Alvin left this earth on August 23, 2022. He began his life journey on February 16, 1938, in Paris, Texas when he was born to Johnny and Maggie (Cockerham) Ausmus. He met Sharron Lee Mohler Ware and they married on August 3, 1961 in Alvin. It was here that they would raise their children, Randy and Deborah. In all honesty, we all thought that he would live forever. That his orneriness and big heart would keep him going. The light in his eyes and his laugh will be forever etched in our memories and all that knew him were blessed to call him friend - and family. And that perpetual cigar…. It was rare to see him without it. James was a plumber by trade but a fisherman and hunter by heart. There are many stories that have been told of the hours spent on the water, the fish that "got away", and the fish that won the tournament. He is reunited with his bride, Sharron, and other family and friends gone before. He, Harry, and Jim have probably already found a great lake to go out on. James was preceded in death by his wife, Sharron Ausmus; parents: Johnny and Maggie Ausmus; brothers: Leroy, Mack, Louis, and Jimmy; and sister, Ruby Lee Ausmus. Left to remember him include his children: Randy Ausmus and Deborah Ausmus; sisters: Maggie Ruth Kelley (Finis) and Johnnie Mae Reyna (Narsiso); grandchildren: Skylar and Megan Ausmus; and an abundance of family members and friends.
