In Loving Memory Of James Coy McIlroy, Jr. October 4, 1948 ~ August 27, 2022 James Coy McIlroy, Jr. was born on October 4, 1948 in Fort Worth, Texas to James Coy McIlroy and Betty Couch McIlroy. He was raised and attended school in Azle, and Toler Texas prior to joining the Army in 1967. After leaving the Army Jim traveled the world iron working and belonged to the Iron workers union before establishing McIlroy Welding in 2000. He had a passion for the Lord, helping family and friends, and military service. In 2001 Jim, Debbie and the boys moved to Cisco, Texas where they started the McIlroy Ranch. There he raised bucking bulls, Quarter horses, and touched many lives through prison ministry and Christians Against Substance Abuse (CASA), while showing his family and friends the true value of hard work. In 2013, Jim and Debbie sold McIlroy ranch and the welding business before moving to Brazoria, Texas. During his retirement, Jim reconnected with his military brothers and was very active with the Special Forces Association (Ch 39), the military order of the purple heart, and the Special Forces brotherhood MC Club. Left to cherish Jim's memory is his wife, Deborah of 36 years, his sister Betty, and children: Enoch, Bryan, Brandi, Coy, Carissa, Rachel, Jody and Cole. Awaiting Jim's arrival in Heaven were his parents: James and Betty McIlroy, his brother, Bill McIlroy, daughter, Judy Strickland, and his grandson, Cash Key. Services are scheduled for: 1:00p.m. at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, Texas. The family welcomes friends for a time of visitation beginning at: 11:00 a.m. until service time.
