Jacqulynn “Jackie” Rhea (Ruzicka) Moff, 90, of Angleton, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Jackie was born on February 26, 1936, to Frank Ruzicka and Annie (Juris) Ruzicka in Rogers, Texas. She lived a life centered on family and the simple joys that brought people together.
In 1953, she married Don Henry Moff. Their marriage spanned nearly seven decades until Don’s passing in 2022. Together, they raised two children: daughter Tamara Lynn (Moff) Gandy and son Don Henry Moff Jr. To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was affectionately known as “NaNa” - a name that instantly meant comfort and unconditional love.
Jackie and Don shared a passion for traveling and visited 47 of the 50 United States together. They enjoyed weekend water skiing, dancing, and creating memories on the road. At home, Jackie was known for her delicious home-cooked meals and beautiful cross-stitching projects. A loyal fan, she cheered for the Houston Astros, Texans, and her beloved Angleton Wildcats through every season. She especially cherished spending time with family during the holidays and evenings playing cards and dominoes with friends.
Jackie began working for the Girl Scouts of America in 1953 and later took a position in the Brazoria County District Clerk's office in 1972. She served in that office for 21 years, working in multiple departments. For eighteen of those years, she served as assistant chief deputy, chief of the criminal department, and chief deputy. In 1993, Jackie was appointed District Clerk. After 22 years of total service and a brief retirement, she returned to the courthouse and continued to serve as needed in various offices.
This year, she joyfully celebrated her 90th birthday surrounded by family and friends - a testament to the many relationships she maintained throughout her life.
Jackie is survived by her children, Tamara (Moff) Gandy (and husband Kyle) of Georgetown, Texas, and Don Moff Jr. (and wife Kathy) of Beaumont, Texas; her grandchildren, Ryan Gandy (and wife Samantha), Mackenzie (Gandy) Lear (and husband Ryan), Alexandria “Alli” Moff, and Don Henry “Trey” Moff III; her great-grandchildren, Elliott, Duncan, Wren, and Walter; and her brother, Franklin Ruzicka of El Campo, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Don Henry Moff; her parents, Frank Ruzicka and Annie (Juris) Ruzicka; and her sisters, Gladys (Ruzicka) Hubenak and Marie (Ruzicka) Labay.
The family extends special thanks and heartfelt gratitude to Teri Wilson, her devoted longtime caregiver and friend of four years, for her kindness, compassion, and dedicated care. They also extend thanks to her devoted Angels and the IPH Hospice team of Lake Jackson, for the compassionate comfort they provided.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Damon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Jackie’s memory to the First Baptist Church of Angleton, Texas.
Jackie Moff leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a family forever grateful for the light and love she brought into their lives.
