Harold Ray Pyeatt, of Angleton, Texas, passed away at age 90 on Thursday, March 31, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Irene Chaney Pyeatt, and grandson, Matthew Alan Pyeatt. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 70 years, Bobbe Lee Southerland Pyeatt; sons, William Ray Pyeatt, Harold Wayne Pyeatt, Leslie Alan Pyeatt; daughter-in-law, Laura Pyeatt; brother, Tommy Pyeatt; 7 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and a host of other family and dear friends. Harold was born on March 9, 1932, in Temple, Texas. He graduated from University of Houston and received his master's degree from Hardin-Simmons University. Harold wore many hats in his lifetime as an instructor for Brazosport College, an engineer with Lone Star Cement Company, maritime captain, private pilot, businessman, and ordained minister. Strong in his faith, he was an Elder at his church, Community of Christ, and one of the First People congregation. Harold was a man of adventure, who enjoyed traveling and trying new things. He could have written a book with stories of the places he'd been, people he'd met, and things he'd done. The grandchildren who walk in Harold's footsteps are William Ray Pyeatt, Jr., Jason Pyeatt, Harold Wayne Pyeatt, Jr., Jonathan Pyeatt, Tracy Pyeatt Grier, Sarah Pyeatt Chaplain, and Jeremy Alan Pyeatt, along with their spouses Chris Blackwell, Kelli Suave Pyeatt, Stacy Holloway Pyeatt, Craig Grier, and Alyssa Boothe Pyeatt. His great grandchildren are Mckenzee Pyeatt and her husband Garrett Busby, Taylor Pyeatt, Harlee Pyeatt, Forrest Pyeatt, Riley Pyeatt, Mason Pyeatt, Camden Pyeatt, Brayden Pyeatt, Madison Pyeatt Seven and her husband Nicholas Seven, Samantha Burrows, Max Pyeatt, Isabella "Bella" Allen, Adalyn "Addie" Holloway, Cole Grier, Madyson Grier, Zoe Chaplain, Ainsley Johnston, Andrew Jackson, Julia Alana Pyeatt, Alistair Pyeatt, Edison Pyeatt, Elizabeth Wren Pyeatt. His great-great grandchildren are Skylar Busby, Carter Busby, Grace Seven, Nicholas Seven Jr. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. The memorial service will begin at 10:30 AM Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Community of Christ Church, 220 Travis St., in Webster.
