Gracie Ann Shefts

Gracie Ann (Buchta) Shefts, 87, of Angleton passed away on July 17, 2025, in Angleton. Gracie was born on December 24, 1937, in Taiton, Tx to Rudolph and Mary (Drastata) Buchta.

Gracie enjoyed serving her church community and sharing her faith in God with those around her. She regularly comforted those that were unable to attend mass through companionship, prayer, and fellowship when she visited them to distribute Communion. She also enjoyed growing plants and sharing them with her friends and loved ones. She had a green thumb and could grow just about anything with ease.

Those that preceded her in death include her first husband, John Courtney; second husband Andrew Shefts; daughter Melody (Courtney) Hadley; parents Rudolph and Mary Buchta; sister, Sally (Buchta) Davis; and her brothers Rudolph Joseph (RJ), Richard, and Gerald Buchta.

Left to treasure an abundance of memories are her daughters Patricia Cardona and husband Joe, Angela Bacot and husband Danny; son Christopher Courtney; several grandchildren; sister, Clarice Buchta; brothers, Stephen and Gregory Buchta; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with the Recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home, 2300 E Mulberry St, Angleton, TX 77515.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday July 23, 2025, at 10:00 am at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1713 N Tinsley St, Angleton, TX 77515. Interment will follow at Angleton Cemetery.
