Gary
Gonzales
August 9, 1960 – February 22, 2026
Gary Gonzales, 65, of Angleton, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026, in Sugar Land, Texas. He was born on August 9, 1960, to Jose D. Gonzales and Alberta Perales, who instilled in him strong values of family, faith, and hard work.
Gary grew up in Angleton and graduated from Angleton High School, where he proudly participated in the Angleton Purple Pride Marching Band. It was there that he met the love of his life, Linda Howell. The two were married on February 20, 1980, and recently celebrated 46 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised two daughters and built a beautiful legacy of love that lives through their cherished grandchildren.
A devoted and loving father, Gary took immense pride in his daughters, Gyna Gonzales Juarez and Geri Gonzales Phillips. He was their biggest supporter—never missing an activity or sporting event—and was always eager to share how proud he was of their accomplishments. He was also a proud father-in-law to Sergio Juarez and Jonathan Phillips.
Affectionately known as “Double G,” Gary dedicated many years of service as a Chemical Operator with Phillips 66 before retiring. Known for his strong work ethic and willingness to put in overtime, his team could always count on him to get the job done. Gary took great pride in his work and deeply valued the friendships he built throughout his career.
Gary was a passionate sports fan, faithfully cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Astros, Houston Rockets, and his hometown Angleton Wildcats. He also enjoyed playing the lottery and, most of all, spending time laughing and sharing stories with family and friends. Whether watching a game or making memories with his grandchildren, Gary found joy in life’s simple pleasures.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Jose D. and Alberta Gonzales; his brother, Ricky Gonzales; his sister, Josephine Gonzales; his nephew Kevin Gonzales, his niece Tiffany Gonzales and brother-in-law Lupe Garcia. He is now reunited with them in heaven.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Gonzales; his daughters, Gyna Gonzales Juarez and husband Sergio, and Geri Gonzales Phillips and husband Jonathan; his beloved grandchildren, Alejandro Juarez and Everett Phillips; his siblings, Joe Gonzales Jr., Clem Gonzales (Sylvia), Becky Gonzales (Dora), and Esther Garcia; along with many extended family members and dear friends. Gary was a proud and devoted husband, father, brother, and “Popo.” His family was his greatest accomplishment and his greatest joy.
