In Loving Memory
Of
Francisca “Frances” C. Howell
March 29, 1933 ~ December 16, 2023
Francisca “Frances” C. Howell, 90, a devoted mother, granny, sister, and beloved member of the community, peacefully passed away on December 16, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 29, 1933, in Freeport, Texas, she lived a fulfilling life, leaving behind cherished memories and a lasting legacy.
Raised with love and care, Frances valued the importance of family and dedicated her life to being a nurturing mother and grandmother.
Many in the Angleton area might remember her as “the paper lady.” She spent over two decades working as a distributor for The Brazosport Facts and delivering newspapers to homes and businesses around the county. Rain or shine, cold or heat, she made sure her route deliverers and her customers had their newspaper.
Later, she went to work as a cafeteria worker for AISD, where she became an integral and recognized part of the school community. In her role, Frances brightened the lives of countless students with her warm smile, kind words, and delicious meals. After her time in the cafeteria, she went on to work as a crossing guard for many years.
Frances also enjoyed crafts and sewing. She was an amazing seamstress, who lovingly made one of her daughter’s and daughter-in-law’s wedding dresses. She also made jewelry and crafts that she sold at area craft shows. She was always busy and loved to let her creative side shine.
Frances found joy and solace in the simple pleasures of life. She loved spending quality time with her family who cherished their time with her. Their close bond was a testament to the deep love and mutual respect they shared. She enjoyed taking care of her garden and loved spending time outside with her cats.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Joseph Howell, Willie Howell, Maximilian Howell, Jimmy Howell, Richard Howell, Hilda Leyva, Carolyn Macias, Linda Gonzales, Lupie Ahart and Mary Hargrave. She is also survived by her siblings: Jesse Cabrera, Cherry Cabrera, and Alice Constantino. Left to cherish her memory are her 23 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Trinidad Cabrera, and her siblings, Juanita, Rosie, Patsy, Sue, Evangelina, Tony, and Lawrence.
