Fannie Mae was the daughter of John Alexander and Fannie Ryan Follett. She was the oldest of four children and enjoyed her early years at home with two sisters Mildred and Mary Catherine and her brother, John.

After Ralph’s years of service during World War II, Fannie Mae and Ralph began their life together in Angleton starting their family as Ralph worked for The Dow Chemical Company while attending law school at night. It was in Angleton she taught school on and off as they raised three children, Carol, John, and Jeff, who all graduated, like Fannie Mae, from Angleton High School.

Fannie Mae continued sharing her life through her oil painting, love of history and her many long-time friendships. Fannie Mae enjoyed worshipping and teaching at First Presbyterian Church of Angleton.

Together Ralph and Fannie Mae enjoyed watching their nine grandchildren participate in all their activities. After Ralph’s passing in 2004, Fannie Mae lived at Carriage Inn in Lake Jackson where she renewed old friendships and made new ones enjoying life through reading, watching sports and visiting with friends and family until she needed to move to Country Village in Angleton.
