Elaine Akers, a woman whose gentle spirit and loving nature touched the lives of those around her, passed away on January 9, 2024, at the age of 70. Born on September 24, 1953 in Angleton, Texas, Elaine's journey on this earth was one filled with warmth, beauty, and a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures.
Elaine's love for nature was evident in every aspect of her life. She found solace in the company of her beloved dogs, their wagging tails bringing untold joy to her heart. Her love for the beach was unwavering, finding respite in the ebb and flow of the tide and the soothing sound of crashing waves. Whether tending to her garden or admiring the vibrant colors of blooming flowers, Elaine's green thumb was a testament to her nurturing touch. Among her most cherished pastimes was watching hummingbirds fluttering about, their grace and delicate beauty captivating her in tranquil moments of reflection.
Elaine's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those closest to her. She is survived by her beloved daughters, Nicole Griffin & Carrie Wright, who will forever carry their mother's love and legacy within her. Her sister Joyce Wishert (husband, James), who will forever cherish the memories shared and the bonds formed over the years. Her grandchildren, Jaggar Griffin and Lucy Wright, brought immeasurable joy to Elaine's life, leaving behind laughter and love that will never fade.
Elaine was preceded in death by her mother; Francis Barchak McKibben, her father; John Macek, her step-father; Warren McKibben, and her brother, John Macek.
Through the trials and tribulations of life, Elaine remained steadfast, radiating a spirit of resilience and kindness. She weathered the storms with grace and embraced each day as a gift. Now, as we gather to honor Elaine's life and bid our final farewells, our collective memories offer solace to our grieving hearts.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Elaine Griffin will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Palms Funeral Home. Friends, family, and all who were touched by her presence are invited to join in paying their respects.
