Edwin Leroy Bieri

Edwin Leroy Bieri, 92 of Angleton Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 3, 2026 in Galveston.

Leroy was born on September 28, 1933 in Markum, Texas to Ewin and Lily Louise (Frick) Bieri. He was raised in Angleton where he developed a strong work ethic early in life while working on the family farm raising rice and ranching. Those early years helped shape the character that defined him throughout his life-his deep faith, dedication to family, and his commitment to his community serving on many community organizations including Angleton ISD Board of Trustees where he served as Board President, The Angleton Chamber of Commerce who named him Citizen of the Year and many other organizations throughout his lifetime. Leroy believed in working hard, loving deeply and giving back to the place he called home.

Leroy attended Texas A&M University where he proudly graduated as a member of the Class of 1956. A devoted Aggie throughout his life, he embraced the traditions and values of loyalty, honor and service that define the Aggie Spirit. In return, Texas A&M recognized him in 2009 as an Outstanding Alumni Award for the College of Agriculture and Life Science.

On August 21, 1954, Leroy married the love of his life, Betty Gayle Kozlek. From that day forward, Betty was the center of his world. Together they shared more than seventy years of marriage filled with devotion, laughter, faith and an unbreakable partnership. Leroy loved Betty deeply and took great pride in the life they built together and the family they raised. Their marriage was a beautiful example of enduing love, and Betty remained Leroy’s greatest blessing throughout his life.

Leroy was known for his quiet strength, steady character and unwavering love for his family. He took great pride in watching his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren grow and flourish.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Edwin and Lily Bieri and his daughter, Stephanie Elaine Bieri Cone.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Betty; his children, Suzanne Bieri Coots and her husband Ron, Son-In-Law, Steve Cone, Stewart Edwin Bieri and his wife Regina; his grandchildren, Andrew Cone and his wife Gabriella, Charlotte Bieri Johnson and her husband Travis, Michael Cone and his wife Caroline and Chase Edwin Bieri; his great grandchildren, Sara Johnnson, Blair Cone, Leah Cone, Cameron Bieri, Ella Johnson, Logan Johnson, Allen Cone, Whitney Johnson, Cailey Bieri, Ryan Cone, and Cal Cone. Also, his extended family including Juan Hernandez and family along with his dear friends.

The Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at the First Presbyterian Church of Angleton with Reverend Michael Gable officiating and fellowship following in the fellowship hall at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Presbyterian Church located at 130 S. Arcola Street, Angleton, Texas 77515 or the SPCA of Brazoria County located at 141 Canna Lane, Lake Jackson, Texas, 77566 in honor of Leroy.

Leroy has answered the Final Roll Call, but the Aggie spirit, faith, and love he lived will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Gig ‘em!
