Dwight Leon Beck

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that on April 26th, 2025, in the early morning, that our loving father, grandfather and husband, Dwight Leon Beck, went on to be with our Lord and gained his heavenly reward. He passed away at his hunting ranch in Mountain Home, where he loved to be.

Born on March 3rd, 1946 in El Campo, Texas, Dwight was the beloved son of James Harold Beck and Annie Lorraine Beck. He grew up with his seven biological siblings and many “adopted” brothers and sisters in Bay City, Texas. He loved playing football and was voted All American several times at Galena Park High School, where he graduated. At age 18, he was drafted into the Army and served in Korea, rising quickly to the rank of Sergeant. Not long after he returned from his service, he met the love of his life, June Beck, and was married for 56 years. His second love was his black 1957 Chevy Bel Air, 2-door hardtop! He worked at Dow Chemical and Dow Pipeline for over 30 years and then went on to be a contractor as a Chief Welding Inspector, traveling all over the US. Dwight was also an avid hunter and had a great love of all things nature. He spent many hunting seasons making memories with friends, his son Stacy and his granddaughter, Karah. The ranch was a gathering place for relaxation and holidays spent laughing and playing games, and he created that for us.

Dwight will be remembered for his constant encouragement and sharing of scripture. One of his most notable favorites being Timothy 2:15, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” He touched the lives of many through serving in Sunday School, driving the Sunday School Bus, and serving on the Leadership Board of his church. He was known as a “pastor’s friend”.

Dwight was preceded in death by his mother Annie Loraine Beck, his father James Harold Beck, his sisters, Ferne Fussell, Shirley Beck, and Robin Beck, his brothers, James Beck and Richard Beck.

He is survived by his wife June Beck, his daughter Stephenie Womack and husband Daniel Womack, his son Stacy Beck, his granddaughter Karah Womack, his brother Elton “Sonny” Beck, sisters Sharyn Goss, Karen Carlton, Jeana Edge, Rhonda Cervantes, their spouses, and many beloved nieces and nephews, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A funeral service will be held on May 1st, 2025 at 6:00 pm at Lighthouse Church, West Columbia, TX. All who loved Dwight Beck are welcome to attend and celebrate his life.
