With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our mother, Dorothy Louise Murff, who left us on February 6, 2025, at the age of 91. Dorothy, a true Southern soul, was born on March 30, 1933, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She dedicated her life to being a loving mother and homemaker, creating a warm and welcoming home for her family.
After the death of her husband and our father, she loved gardening, taking care of her home, and volunteering in her community. Dorothy had a way of brightening any room and made everyone feel like family, leaving us with countless cherished memories. Dorothy is survived by her beloved daughters, Katherine Louise Schultz (James), and Susan Elaine Lancen (Jim), who will carry on their mother’s legacy of love and kindness. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Sheryl, Sandy, Johnny, James Jr., Larry, Crystal, Danny, Glenn, & James; her great grandchildren, Justin, LeighAnne, David, Courtnie, Bryce, Karrissa, Annabell, Elizabeth, Madalyn, Cora, Heather, Danny, Jr., Easton & Maddox; as well as 2 great-great grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, John Willburn Clark, her husband Talmadge Murff, her son, John Clark and her parents: James and Dolly Batton.
A memorial service will be held on March 15, 2025, at 2:00 PM, where friends and family will come together to celebrate her remarkable life at First Baptist Church in Angleton, Texas.
Please join us as we honor Dorothy, sharing stories and laughter, just as she would have wanted. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
