Cynthia Lynnette McDaniel Jones

Cindy was born to Molly Jean (McDaniel) Pirtle & Robert Lloyd McDaniel in Freeport, Texas. Cindy attended Brazoswood High School and Brazosport College. Cindy began and ended a career in Engineering graphics. It’s what she loved to do. Cindy met Ken Jones in 1989 and moved to Angleton and officially started their life together on December 07, 1991, when they were married at the First Methodist Church of Angleton. Cindy and Ken enjoyed traveling ‘after kids’ and made several trips to Europe and the Middle East along the way, but the best vacations were always the summer trips to the Frio River with all the kids. Cindy enjoyed her times playing Mah Jong and cards and scrapbooking with her sister and friends. She enjoyed playing golf with her husband, but only because she liked beating him at it.

Cindy’s primary life’s work was raising her children which were the center of her life. Andy Kroupa (wife Misty and child Rayna), Chris Kroupa (wife Ashley and child Allie), Jenah Jones (husband Matt and children Aiden and Tyler), and Brandon Jones (wife Ari and children Amelia, Astrid, and Arwen). Cindy was the emotional rock of her own family. Cindy successfully helped guide her children through the many challenges of growing up into responsible and productive adults. 

Cindy leaves behind a loving family of her husband Ken Jones and all her children and grandchildren, her mother Molly Pirtle, sisters Pamela Lawhon and Julie Rhodes.

The greatest challenge of Cindy’s life began in December of 2025 when she was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Scans revealed advanced cancer that had spread and was incurable, but it was treatable. For almost 8 months Cindy endured countless treatments and side effects to be with her family. As her treatment options were eventually exhausted Cindy continued to fight to the end, never giving up and always with a positive spirit. Her family was with her as she peacefully passed at home after months of pain and suffering. Through all of that, she never worried about herself. Cindy may be gone but will always be remembered by those fortunate enough to have spent time her.

Services will be held at Palms Funeral Home, Angleton on Friday, August 28th at 10am with Pastor David Catoe officiating.
