Charles Boyd NeSmith

Charles Boyd NeSmith, 78, of Clute, Texas passed away on February 23, 2026. He was born on July 2, 1947, in Bedias to the late Radford NeSmith and Lucy Mae NeSmith.

Charles was united in marriage to the love of his life, Paula Lorraine NeSmith, on March 1, 1970, at her mother’s home in Brazoria. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and simple joys.

He was a devoted father to Paul NeSmith (wife, Dawn NeSmith), Kay Lapointe (husband, Barry), and April NeSmith. He cherished his role as Grandpa to Jordan NeSmith, Jace NeSmith, Jewell Lapointe, Jeremiah Cantu, Mya Rodriguez, Mariah NeSmith, Nicholas Garza, Jade Garza, and Leilani Morin. He was also blessed to be Great-Grandpa to Isabella, Enzo, Emalyn, and Freyah. He was a loving brother to John NeSmith, Billy NeSmith, and Kitty Raymond.

Charles was preceded in death by eight brothers, five sisters, and his parents.

Charles enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He loved playing Pick3 and scratch-offs, trying his luck and sharing stories of his near wins. He also found peace and happiness fishing, spending quiet hours by the water.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until service time on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Palms Funeral Home, with services beginning at 3:00 p.m. with Carlos Villareal officiating. Charles will be laid to rest at Bedias Baptist Cemetery on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in Bedias, Texas.
