Charles Wayne Majors, age 90, passed away on February 23, 2026.
Born on May 30, 1935, in Jacksonville, Texas, Wayne was the son of Alvin Leroy Majors and Minnie Lee (Arnold) Majors. As a young boy, he moved with his family to Freeport, Texas, where he was raised and later graduated from high school. He went on to attend Sam Houston State University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Drafting.
In 1957, Wayne married the love of his life, Lucille Thane Majors. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and later continued his service with the Army National Guard of Alaska.
Wayne dedicated his professional career to Dow Chemical, working in several locations including Houston, Texas; Rocky Flats, Colorado; and Freeport, Texas. He was known as a gentle, soft-spoken man whose steady presence left a lasting impression on colleagues, friends, and family alike.
He had a lifelong love of hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. Wayne and Lucille raised horses and cared for many beloved pets over the years. He especially enjoyed watching the birds and wildlife that gathered in his yard, finding peace and joy in the beauty of nature.
Wayne is survived by his son, Keith Wayne Majors; his daughter, Tanya Ann (Majors) Fry and son-in-law Don Patrick Fry; his grandchildren, Trenton Wayne Lycka and Heidi Nichole Fry; one great-grandchild Levi Wayne Lycka; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lucille Thane Majors; his father, Alvin Leroy Majors; his mother, Minnie Lee (Arnold) Majors; and his brothers, Chester Lee Majors, Clinton Alvin Majors, and James Ray Majors.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Palms Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow beginning at 3:00 pm with Mike Rodriguez officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date.
Wayne lived a long and fulfilled life, leaving behind a legacy of quiet strength and cherished memories that will endure for generations.
